Pleasure in Progress
I was going to call this post "Work in Progress" but I can't really call it "work." It's a pleasure to do and I love it. This is what I am creating now. I love the pattern. It is a portion of a much larger pattern. I am not sure yet what I will make with it. Still pondering that...

Etsy Milestone
I have reached the "40" mark. I now have 40 items listed in my Etsy shop!
http://www.etsy.com/shop/AnneN
They say, the more items the better. My goal is to have 100 items listed.
I made a cute cat pincushion but I liked it so much that I decided to keep it! I added it to my collection. I have to stop!
Wait until you see what I am working on now!!!!!!!!!

Another Project
So, I crossed stitched this nice pattern and decided to make a sewing tin out of it but I wasn't completely satisfied with the end result so I am using it as a button tin. I didn't think that is was Etsy-worthy. I added a cute little stork scissor charm and red braiding. It didn't look right when I glued the fabric to the lid. But here it is nonetheless. I thought I would share my mistakes along with my triumphs.

Truffles
This is Truffles. She is our first cat. We adopted her through a local pet store. They named her Scarlet but she didn't look like a Scarlet to us. My daughter chose "Truffles." Her full name is Truffles Scarlet Feather. We added "Feather" because she is as light as a feather. She is a full-grown cat (3 years old) and she weighs only 6 pounds, ten ounces. She is a brat and she is very nosy. She bosses the dog around. He is afraid of her. She isn't really mean to him but she stares him down. She is a very pretty cat and we love her.

Cross-Stitch Mania
I can't get enough of it. Cross stitch, I mean. I just listed a new item on Etsy: a cute scissor fob that I just finished.
I made this pincushion with a vintage 1/8 measuring cup. I didn't think the lady selling it would split up the set of four but she did! I was going to list it on Etsy too but it is so sweet that I think I want to keep it!

Emmy Night!
Well, I've had a busy weekend.
My neighbour asked if I could help set up tables for a HUGE garage sale to raise funds for an organization that helps animals.
A bunch of us went to a local festival. They had all kinds of booths set up (crafts, jewelery, food, toys, plants). There was a Lady Gaga impersonator who was absolutely amazing! The kids (monsters) were loving it too. The weather was great. We also went for our traditional lunch of homemade perogies and sausages at a local Ukrainian church. There were so many dogs there too! I felt bad that I didn't take Neil. Maybe next year.
I planned our meals for the week (because it's all about the food): chili, marinated beef on buns with dipping sauce, chicken parmesan sandwiches, and spinach quiche.
I am hosting our weekly Wednesday party this week and I am serving Asian BBQ meatballs, spring rolls, chips, nuts, etc., and of course wine and coolers!
I also plan to make butter tarts, peanut butter cookies, Skor bar brownies (yes, Skor bars), and a lemon pistachio loaf. I have wanted to bake for weeks now but it has been too gosh darn hot!
I have to show you some pictures of our cat, Truffles. She has the cutest paws you have ever seen! I confess, I do have a paw fetish.
Oh, and we managed to squeeze in a Greek dinner too. Yum!
Gotta go watch the Emmy show! Bye!

Cross-Stitch Crazy
I have been busy cross-stitching and adding new items to my Etsy shop. I just added three new pincushions.
Here are the twins:
They were a custom order and I think they turned out quite nicely.

A Sigh of Relief
I took my Shetland Sheepdog, Neil, to the vet today to get his stitches removed. Two weeks ago he had a tumour removed from his right shoulder. Thank goodness it was benign. I was so happy when the vet's office called with the good news.
Neil is the sweetest and happiest dog I have ever owned. All our Shelties were such wonderful dogs but he is by far the happiest dog EVER! I LOVE HIM!
